(6-Good Film)
Amusing. Silly. Well-played.
I was quite surprised to find this George Hamilton vehicle to be almost as clever as it was campy. Hamilton, famous for being famous, is actually pretty funny and self-deprecating in dual roles; one as your traditional Latin lover, Diego, and the other as the long lost twin brother who grew up in England and developed a sense of the flamboyant, Bunny Wigglesworth. The brothers team up to play the iconic Zorro (Diego in black and Bunny in red, green, yellow, and pink) in order to fight the tyranny of Captain Esteban (Ron Liebman). Lots of bad Spanish accents, double entendres, and gay stereotypes ensue. Somehow the director and his actors, Hamilton and Liebman in particular, make it all work.
