(7-Very Good Film)
Vibrant. Exciting. Entertaining.
Jamie Waring (Power) is a scoundrel; a pirate and Captain Morgan’s trusted right-hand man. He’s losing some of his edge, however, now that he’s met the beautiful Lady Margaret Denby (O’Hara), and it couldn’t come at a worse time for Captain Morgan, who’s reformed and needs to prove himself in the royal court. This is classic Hollywood entertainment: tremendous supporting cast, attractive stars, lovely technicolor, and deft craftsmanship on display in the action sequences. The Black Swan is a top-notch swashbuckler.
