Bright. Enjoyable. Light.
Updating the classic Goofy character, A Goofy Movie sets its title character as a single father of a mildly rebellious teenage son, Max. Feeling that the two are growing apart, Goofy plans a road trip across the country to Lake Destiny in Idaho, while Max dreams of dancing onstage with pop superstar, Powerline, in Los Angeles to impress his crush, Roxanne. Vibrant, creative adaptation of all those Disney shorts starring Goofy, with plenty of inspired madcap action anchored by just enough relatability. The Powerline music numbers are far superior to the rest of the film’s songs which still manage to be fun without being memorable.
