Sweet. Romantic. Schmaltzy.
Unabashed romance flick about a widower (Hanks) and his son living in Seattle who become a national sensation after the son calls in on one of those radio talk shows. Listening in, all the way from Baltimore, is Annie Reed (Ryan), and from that point on, the movie becomes a cute romantic collision course between the two stars. Bolstered by Harry Connick Jr. songs and a soundtrack full of old jazz standards, lovable stars, witty dialogue, and a complete disregard for what might be seen as corny, cliché, or contrived, Sleepless in Seattle endures.
