(6-Good Film)

Insightful. Authentic. Absorbing.

Charming, honest look at the lives of improv performers in New York City. When one member of the group gets hired by Weekend Live (obviously representing SNL), the other members react differently to his success. It’s funny at times, sad at others. It’s also a good representation of struggling artists at a crossroads. What if they just don’t have it? The performances and relationships come off as very natural, and Birbiglia does a good job in his first time directing a film balancing the different tones.
