Since Waltz’ breakthrough role as Colonel Hans Landa in Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds (2009),  the Austrian star has become a Hollywood favorite supporting player, winning two Oscars and appearing in 2 or 3 films a year, often as the colorful villain. Waltz has a knack for unique bad guys, and so the idea of him being an evil boss in the sequel to the hit comedy, Horrible Bosses, should have yielded much better results. Horrible Bosses 2, in which he plays a business mogul who steals the protagonists’ invention, is an obnoxious comedic mess and Waltz has nothing to do but go down with the ship.
