Starring John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing, Jeff Conaway, Eve Arden, Sid Caesar, Frankie Avalon

Eminently popular musical about a diamond-in-the-rough type (Travolta) who falls in love with the good girl from Australia (Newton-John) as they try to get through their final year of high school. Encapsulates a lot of the fun and energy that’s nostalgically associated with youth, while also linking two distinct times successfully; that of its present (the 70s with its title song by Barry Gibbs) and that of the bygone 50s and the greaser subculture. It’s a vibrant and funny film that deserves its status as a classic.
