Starring Harry Dean Stanton, Dean Stockwell, Nastassja Kinski, John Lurie

Harry Dean Stanton wanders the Texan landscape in search of his young wife. Its admirers will tell you that it is thoughtful, provocative, and honest, but I contend this film about a mysterious wanderer, his estranged wife, abandoned son, and faithful brother is surprisingly cold for a film about Texas. It’s a mood piece, and crafted with precision, but its enigmatic tone never intrigued me.
